Hey what are your thoughts re: Roger? I think you'll find this thread interesting regarding the Rocket. So Who's Telling The Truth? This is a great article about how Terry Francona feels about the Yankees and the rivalry. I enjoyed it very much. Terry is a class act. Francona Has Soft Spot for Yanks: Their Rivalry With Red Sox |

Yuku ate my post the other day!
Anyway, good to see you back. I hope this forum will have some great activity and discussion this year!

I have to say that I am interested to see just what this forum has to offer. I have to say that it has been my experience on other forums that MFY fans that
join Sox sites do so to stir up crap. I hope this is the exception. Maybe Cali is logical and level headed. I have yet to meet a MFY fan like that online.
I know some in "real life." I look forward to it. It could be an interesting year in 2008. Both Sox an MFY fans just may be on the outside looking
in in October at................the Tigers. Go Sox!

Jack,
This forum has had some great pinstriped posters. Last season was quieter than the one before, but hopefully this year will be busier. Russ and Laura to name a couple of posters brought great commentary and interesting discussion. We will not allow the forum to become a place for nasty jabs and pot stirring.

Freakin yuku stole my post also. Thanks Russ for the links. Rogah lost his credibility for me early on in his career with the famous 'blister' story in
the 1986 WS.
Francona is a standup guy. Nice to see that for a change. While I often cringe when he doesn't pull the trigger in late innings w/pitchers I have to say he has done something that no manager did in 86 years and then did it again. Guy has my vote.

Jack, Russ is a baseball fan who happens to be a Yankee fan. He also runs his own site and is fun to talk with. This is a forum free from the usual barbs
between RS and yankee fans. We have had some excellent discussions without the usual bravado. Great discussions of the rivalry
games...what fans from each side are really thinking. Sometimes we are so close on some of this stuff it is scary. So consider this forum one for the
peacekeepers of the game and the rivalry. Russ is knowledgeable and funny. I really enjoy the fact that he comes over to post....even on some of the darkest
yankee days.

I have to say that it has been my experience on other forums that MFY fans that join Sox sites do so to stir up crap. It goes both ways. FYI, I was the one who coined the name for this forum, and I don't mind a healthy discussion. The Red Sox fans who post here are also baseball fans and we have a pretty good time. Anyway, here's to a fun 2008. I like our chances with our kids. Remember 2003? Nobody ever heard of Josh Beckett and Dontrelle Willis before the Marlins beat my team in the WS. I think our guys will surprise a lot of people this year. We all better be watching out for the teams in the Central Division and the Angels out west. |

Cali I understand it goes both ways. I am not one to join a MFY fan site. I have no reason to it makes no sense to me. You have a
couple good SOX fans here vouching for you so that is a good thing. I am looking forward to the season. The SOX youngsters as well are going to be
interesting to watch as well. But I have to say of all the teams out there the Tigers worry me the most. They could be poised for a monster season.

I think while everyone is waiting for Detroit to take over the central, the Indians will blow past them and play in the ALCS again. Despite Detroit's
improvements, I still think Cleveland is the better team.
Every day is a new adventure!

Hi All!
Thanks gals (Sue and Patti) for the messages regarding the big move to yuku and good luck with the new board! Sorry I have been missing for so long from this site and Russ's too! First off congrats on another WS win to Red Sox Nation. I haven't been too involved with the off season stuff, but did get to Spring Training last week to see the Yanks and Red Sox play on St. Paddy's Day. We also saw another game in Bradenton against the Pirates. The weather was great and it's brutal being back in Chicago with 1-3" of snow forecasted today! Well, I am looking forward to another exciting season of baseball together, when I get a chance to post! Russ will you be making any road trips this year? Sis and I are hoping to go to Toronto and Pittsburg. PNC park is pretty cool. ~Laura |

Laura I saw a couple games at PNC last year in Pitt. Beautiful park and fun city...I found it difficult to get around there though. We are off to Cleveland
this June on our annual trek to see MLB parks. Ever been?

Jack
I have been to the park in Cleveland. Unfortunately, the weather was pretty bad so I felt I couldn't enjoy the park as much as I had wanted given all the rain delays we encountered the weekend I went a few years back. I can understand your point regarding moving around PNC. It kind of has an unusual circular feel to it, especially around that lighted metal contraption, but once seated it is very nice. I think a lot of the newer parks (Cleveland included) kind of have the same feel to them. I have yet to go to Baltimore which is suppose to be nice as well. ~Laura |

Laura PNC itself was great. I found the city a bit difficult compared to the likes of Chicago and even Baltimore. Baltimore is a great stadium take the tour.
Wrigley has a similar feel to Fenway too. Well I hope the weather holds out for us in Cleveland. Have fun on the trip.

Wow, who would of thought the Yankees would be on the bottom (or so many games out) at this time? Not me! But I guess it may take awhile for the team to grow
together with all the new ones, but wow! Their young pitchers are not as impressive as the Sox's young guns!!! Although we all know Joba is fine and still
has stuff to show.

Well ECG the MFY's have been out by about this many as in the past. I would hesitate to count them out esp in May. Joba moving to a starter not too.
Should be interesting. I wonder if he can be as dominant as a starter. I think it will be tougher to fool batters over 7 innings than 1-2 as he does now.

Hey gang, been awhile. The Yanks and Sox better quit worrying about each other and start worrying about the Tampa Bay Rays. They are quietly taking over the
East, and we're too far into the season to say they're a fluke. They're just going to sit back and watch us pound on each other.
