Not a bad move for some insurance. If healthy he might contribute. Wonder if he has a weight clause

This is very exciting! If we were to have Colon AND Snyder in a game against the Yankees, TIME WOULD ACTUALLY STAND STILL!!!
Actually this is pretty interesting, although I - like Patti - wonder if there is a Santa Clause. Lisa Dude, run!

No-brainer deal for the Sox. No guaranteed money so nothing to lose. And if he could get his injuries under control and return to anything close to what he once was...

I like this deal...if Colon can return to 2005 form then we have Once again..one of the best rotations in baseball.
Beckett-Dice K-Wake-Lester-Buccholtz With Snyder/Tavarez and Colon as insurance...not to mention Schilling in the wings if he can rehab his shoulder... i count a cy young or 2 a few WS MVP's and a No hitter in that rotation.... |

Very very interesting. I didn't know the Angels had given up on him. Wow a minor league deal. This is kind of exciting...nothing ventured...and who knows maybe quite a bit gained!

![]() This could end up being fun! I would think he would like it here. The guy was a hell of a pitcher in 2005 lets hope he has a few good innings left! S. |

I am wondering why more of you aren't "weighing in" on this topic.

When a guy is signed to a minor league deal with no guaranteed money in it, there has to be a reason. I'll wait until I see him pitch a few games.

He may not be ready to pitch now, but he is definitely ready to 'roll'!

Now that Schill is on the shelf for the forseeable future. I think it wise to pick up a vet on the cheap with incentives to fill the void left by Schill. I said this in the Schill thread. I thought that Theo would sign someone on the cheap. I guess great minds think alike....huh.....huh?

Colon had another solid side session yesterday. Even Schill was impressed.
"Had a chance to see Bartolo throw again today and I was blown away. He looks incredible," Schilling said on his blog, 38pitches.com. "Could be a huge steal, not sure how other teams passed on him. He looked awesome."http://www.theday.com/re.aspx?re=e3b62502-1411-4436-a193-9014c6ca70b8

Music to my ears. This could be huge (no pun intended). I guess my worry is his durability. But for basically little money down this could be terrific if he
can be even 80-90% of his former self. Guy is a money pitcher and you have to like that. This is great news. Thanks for sharing the link Jack.
