Or favorite stat sites?
Normally I'd put this in another forum but I think this is most read at this time of the year.

What baseball blogs do you read to keep up with off-season (and on-season news)
Or favorite stat sites? Normally I'd put this in another forum but I think this is most read at this time of the year. Sue |

I have browsed schills, I post here, foreverred and the globe board some too. I have read others time to time but nothing has really hooked me to go back over and over.

I have browsed Curt's blog, and of course I frequent ForeverRed.com...I have dabbled at the Globe board as well but quality sites are few and far between.

"... but quality sites are few and far between. "
-gluttonforpunishment I agree. I used to frequent the Globe msg board and checked out other sites, but now I just stick to the RemyReport, reading Boston.com for info, USA Today for stats, ESPN for reading and stats, MLB.com for stats and team home pages, and reading Curt's blog. |

It's amazing how many bad sites there are out there, most die on thier own but in this day...cheap hosting allows some bad sites to linger. It is very hard to find a site with some real personality and posters that are into more than hearing themselves talk.

There is nothing wrong with a cheap plug, and it can be perfectly healthy if you offer a quality product. I mean, this IS America...right?

Here are some of my baseball bookmarks:
Boards and Blogs SoSH Lurk only since I don't know the secret handshake NYYFans.com know thy enemy Over the Monster Used to participate here but haven't been there is a while. Not a bad Blog but not very active. Player Recources thebaseballcube.com Fantastic site for minor league stats, even for veteran and retired players. baseballamerica.com More minor league stats hardballdollars.com Contract status and payroll for every MLB team. I also like Cots as Sue referenced above. Much more thorough but does not have info on every player on the 40 man roster like Hardball Dollars. News Prosportsdaily.com Listing of all Red Sox (or whichever team you search) news from papers across the country. Great resource at the trade deadline to get perspective from "the other team". Rotoworld I check in here a couple times a day. Constantly updated all day long. |

I know it is more of a portal than a blog site but I really like www.bostonspotsmedia.com it's a real convient place to go for everysport Boston.
And usually the comentary leading up to the article is as good as the article. |

here is an excellent site that provides solid opinion articles for every team in MLB.
Great site for reasoned and articulate posting about events in baseball. mvn.com/mlb-redsox/ |

My Favorites (other than here):
SoSH - but I agree that there are a few too many pompous *sses there. For those of you who lurk there, you can now post in a few forums, the Minor League Forum, the MLB forum, and the "Sandbox". I recommend it. Rob Bradford's blog - this guy is good. He gets some decent scoops. Just found out from him that Javier Lopez will be the 25th and final guy to break camp. 38 Pitches - It's interesting to see a point of view from the other side of the fence. And here's a cheap plug: The House That Dewey Built |

I pretty much stick to the Remy Report, boston.com, and 38Pitches. I only have so many hours in a day to devote to online reading! Watching Sports Desk and other NESN Sox shows rounds out my Sox fix.

As we continue to go crazy....
Here are some more interesting links www.baseball-links.com/ comprehensive well-categorized site. I think you'll enjoy it. www.beercanbaseball.com/play.html For Phil www.retrosheet.org/ lots to browse through here. Old game, stats and box scores..."Boxscores for every major league game from 1957 through 2005 plus the NL in 1911, 1921, and 1922." Listings of transactions, special feats. Research papers. Fun and geekdom rolled into one huge package...well organized This site alone could take you through until Monday. |

There's Surviving Grady
Chad Finn's Touching All the Bases is great. And one of my all time favs is the parody blog, Call of the Green Monster. I laugh every time I go there. Those are off the top of my head. If I think of more, I'll post them. Ken |

I have to say I've been hooked on Schilling's Blog. I didn't think it would be anything special at first, but it really is some excellent baseball writing, from a perspective you don't always hear.
And, he's giving away Direct TV in a contest. I don't know...I realize he gets a lot of heat from even Sox fans...I'm not really sure why, though. |
