I have been working with Rick Arrowood who is the Executive
Director for the Mass chapter of the ALS Association. As many of you know, Curt Schilling is very involved with this organization. ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Through Curt's Pitch you are able to pledge a dollar amount per strikeout / per win that Curt attains for the season. It can be as little as a penny and as much as you want it to be.
Rick and I were only able to speak for a few minutes the other day as his office was without heat! He was getting ready to leave when I called and we will be speaking again soon. He told me the website is almost ready and he is really, really excited that we are going to participate as a group. He said he was heading out to Arizona to meet with Curt and Shonda and will be sure to tell them of our support.
As for right now, I will give you the link to the main chapter of ALS on the web. You can find out more information and/or start pledging! If you DO pledge, please come back to this forum with a reply. Let us know how much you pledged so we can keep track of it!
