Hi all I just wanted to let those interested in a great fundraising event. The CT Autism Spectrum Resource Center is holding its 9th annual Walk for Autism on May 6th 2007. The ASRC is a non-profit organization in Connecticut that serves individuals with autism spectrum disorders, their family members, and the professionals who work with them. We provide a variety of services including family support, training opportunities for both parents and professionals, development of new resources in the state, advocacy training, sibling support, community awareness, a comprehensive education network, and education around important legislative issues. The walk is their main source of revenue throughout the year. The event is a great event for the entire family. For all who attend there will be food, entertainment and information about autism. It is a wonderful time. My 4 year old son was diagnosed with autism just over a year ago. It has been a struggle for the family but he has made great strides and ASRC has been a wonderful part of that. Today 1 in 150 children will be have been diagnosed with autism and 1 in 94 boys. Sobering numbers. Chances are it has touched your life or someone you know. If you live in CT I hope you can attend. If not maybe you can support this wonderful group or a walker. I will be there with the family again this year. If you would like to learn more feel free to contact me or visit the site. Thank you.
