Red Sox: The lefty has been nothing short of magnificent of late. After earning American League Pitcher of the Month honors in September, Lester posted a 0.00 ERA in 14 innings against the Angels in the Division Series. He earned the win in Game 1 and left Game 2 with a 2-0 lead after seven innings. In three career postseason starts, Lester hasn't allowed an earned run. Lester was a Fenway Park force this season, going 11-1 with a 2.49 ERA in 17 starts. Against the Rays this season, Lester was dominant, going 3-0 with an 0.90 ERA in three stats. Rays: Garza watched a fine start unravel in Game 3 of the Division Series, as the right-hander ran into trouble in the fourth inning at Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field and paid dearly for it. The Rays were unable to back Garza, who allowed seven hits and five earned runs in a loss. Still, the 25-year-old pitched well and will look to pick up his first career postseason win. Garza has arguably the best stuff on the Rays rotation, and if he can keep his emotions in check, he is a force to be reckoned with. He is a career 3-1 with a 3.86 ERA against the Red Sox. and, of course..... Joan

Garza looks really good tonight and he's getting the outside part of the plate against left-handed batters. Gonna be reeeeaaaly tough. Edit: After a couple of great hits, nice to see Tek is killing us offensively again in the post-season like he has done all season long. Does he lead the team in runners stranded at 3rd with less than 2 outs? It really feels it. He sucks! Goodbye after this year Tek (I hope). My bloods boiling a little too much. First he coughs up a run with a passed ball then takes a 2-2 pitch right in his wheel house for strike three. I am all for pinch hitting for him in the 2nd inning and on. With the horses this team has on the mound, there is no need for Tek's "intangibles" next year. Sants Thanks 5, 18, 45, 38, 34, 24, 33, 49 and 7 for 2004. You're absolutely right. And I think the point of all this is our team has way too many holes to win it all without a lot of luck. Our 1 and 3 hitters haven't done diddly. And the bottom part of our order is pretty much NL caliber. Kotsay is having a good night tonight, but Tek is what he's been all year, bad. Beckett is not Beckett and hasn't been all year. With that said, after tonight we'll be down 2-1 (sorry folks, I don't think there is any chance we win tonight). We've come back from 3-0 and 3-1 deficits our last two world series, but this is a different team. Edit: Pena just did EXACTLY what Ortiz should be doing every at-bat right now. Hot Dawg Posts: 1523 10/13/08 6:30 PM Hockey Dawg	Well I started the game at work and it was 0-1 when I left and by the time I got to my car and turned on the radio it was 4-0 ... I was stunned. What has happened to our ace? The offense is just not on so I am not sure they can overcome a 5 run lead. Big Papi should just sit out a game. He is not helping at all. Elsbury is sucking at the plate but he is a valuable outfielder. Not like anyone else besides Dustin and Youks are hot right now. I think the last game in TB just sucked the life right out of the team. I know it did me. I will never say die until the last out of any game, of any series (remember being down 0-3 to the Yanks) but if they lose this game, it doesn't look good. COME ON SOXS! Oh, and Tek maybe sucking at the plate (like many others) but I still think is he one of the best men behind the plate in baseball. IMHO of course. Sharon

I think if give him all this credit for being great, then we also need to give him the blame when the pitchers do poorly. His offense now outweighs any goodness that comes from his catching. It's time for him to go. I guess the good news is with Wake going tomorrow, we won't see Tek. As for Ellsbury, the guy needs to stop swinging at high pitches. He doesn't know what a ground ball is anymore. I'd much rather see Coco right now. I mean, 0-20 is horrible, and he's costing this team as much as Tek and Ortiz is. And I also agree about Ortiz, I'd sit him too. I'd rather play anybody but him. He just isn't good at the moment. He's trying to pull everything. BUNT THE DAMN BALL!!! it's a big improvement over what you've been doing. Francona needs to shake things up and sit these guys who aren't doing crap. But Francona is stubborn, so we will lose.
