What's the scoop with Schill? |

Has anyone seen any updates about how Curt Schilling is progressing? I just went over to 38 Pitches to browse around and didn't see anything current. Do we
think he'll be back?

He was on WEEI last week and was very upbeat about his recovery. His rehab and weights program is apparently progressing incredibly well, and he feels pain
free!
But, he has not done any throwing yet, and that will be the big test to see if the rehab worked or if the pain comes right back. My impression was that throwing would probably start in May. My guess is that if that phase goes well, he'll probably be on pace to pitch for the Sox sometime in August, possibly earlier. But, if he does manage to bounce back, what a great boost as the pennant races heat up! Good question Joan! |

Schilling spoke to the media before last night's game. This is from the Projo.

He last threw Friday, it didn't go well, and Francona said he planned to huddle with the veteran righthander on where they go from here. Clearly not a positive developmentAt least dice-k did well last night....is this it for schill? http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2008/06/17/cast_on_ortizs_wrist_removed/

That's too bad. But I didn't really think he'd be back this year.

Well, his last game was a 2-1 win in the WS, so not a bad way to go out.

That was a wasted contract. Oh well, at least the memories will be there forever of us winning the Series twice!

I for one will miss him. I was hoping that he would be okay. I am sorry that they stalled on his surgery. Poor guy. He was the catalyst in my opinion for the
RS to certainly win the 1st WS and he had a fantastic post season last year. Good luck with everything Curt. You rock!

Sorry to ask this--did we just win ANOTHER World Series?
