Peggy was so thoughtful to me after my husband passed away. She would periodically send me an ez message asking how I was doing. I hope once she got to the
other side that my husband found her and thanked her for her kindness to me. All Dawgs go to Heaven.
Rest in peace Peggy. |

I deleted the inappropriate comments. Someone's out of the doghouse. This isn't the time or place for that kind of stuff. I am sorry for those of you
who came to leave a message for Peg and had to be brought into someone's need to vent and wrestle up the past. Sorry Peggy. I fixed it. No one's
hijacking THIS thread for to beat their own drum. (not EVEN Tom Ridge)

I was absolutely stunned to get the news of Peggy's passing. I too had received an email from her telling me of her illness and asking that it not be
shared. Reading some of the thoughts here indicates that she told many of her friends on this board and no one, no one at all broke her confidence. I went to
the Baseball Writers Dinner with her and Ruth this past January before she learned she was sick. We spent a bit of time in the cocktail lounge area drinking
merlot (shocker) while waiting to meet Ruth. She was in good spirits, as the dinner really is the first "hint" of baseball in the new year and I
know she was looking forward to wataching the Sox defending their World Championship.
Since 2005 Peggy, Phil, Ruth and myself have attended the final game of the regular season together. I will miss you, my friend. Rest in peace. Pat Edited for clairty

LOUIS -- There the Red Sox were, spilled across the Busch Stadium infield, laughing and hugging and screaming and spraying champagne and posing for photos and filling plastic bags with souvenir dirt and attempting to explain to reporters and cameramen what it meant to win the team's first championship in 86 years. And in the midst of this celebration, walked a slight old man wearing a weathered raincoat and a smile he's been waiting six decades to flash.

I am so grateful to all of you for posting your memories of Peggy, because I only knew her "long distance" and missed out on the in person
relationship. We had a lot in common: we were both over 60,
Thank you, Peggy, and love, Ann |

I'm not a Remular and really didn't know Peggy that well, although I do remember chatting with her. One certainly knew she loved animals, and I expect
she'd be one of a handful to care that a newborn preemie kitten passed away (peacefully) snuggled against me this morning despite my best efforts to save
it.
My condolences to those of you who knew her well. We all know it will be our turn to go sooner or later, but it never ceases to be hard on those left behind. Thank you for taking the time to notify us, Patti. It was very considerate of you and a nice thing to do for Peggy. Lisa

I was shocked to get an e-mail from Patti. Peggy will be missed. I was lucky to have met her a couple of times and of course there was always chat.
"Billy Ballgame," the Red Sox captain said. "He's a batting champion. He's our Trot [Nixon] of the infield. He gets at it every day and gets dirty head to toe."

It is ironic that I received this from one of my dog rescue groups today, and it is something that I would have sent to Peggy.
I will share it here in her memory and because of her love for all animals... http://dogsdeservebetter.org/iamunseen.html

I also learned of Peggy's passing via Patti's message. I didn't know Peggy all that well, but I was extremely shocked to learn this.

I think Peg would be truly touched by this thread. Good dawgs. Pat you pinned it, although Peggy shared with many of the 'old' (don't take this
personally) dawgs everyone respected her privacy. Peg is the first remular that I know of that has passed. Many of us have lost family but all of the remulars
have pretty much stayed intact (that we know of). I am wondering what Peggy has to say to Ted or better yet 'Jr' YIKES!

Thanks, Patti, for sending me the email about Peggy. I have not been around in awhile and would not have known otherwise. Wow, as others have said, 62 is way
too young! Like others, I have many happy memories of a "wicked" --in the very best (and I suppose local, too) sense of the word -- sense of humor,
as well as keen insights and a keen sense of justice. Peggy was a an interesting lady and a New England original! It was fun to "watch" Red Sox games
with her and get to share her observations on all things Sox (which, after all, is all things life ;-) and beyond. The monk and Tim Wakefield were/are blessed
to have her as their biggest fan -- loyalty being, from my observation, an important part of who Peggy was and is.
I think you are right, Sue, about Peggy being the first remular to pass (that we know of) and to ask what a few others above asked, do you think it would be appropriate for us to do something as a group? Take care all and hope to see you all again, soon. Godspeed. |

Peggy & I had our differences but it's all water under the bridge. I know that she really did care about me... she expressed her genuine, heartfelt
concern for my well-being on more than one occasion, and I kept her on my email list of folks who receive periodic updates on the happenings of our family.
She always expressed an interest in how Grace was doing, and offered us some advice when we adopted our 2nd dog and things weren't going so well (we ended
up sending dog #2 to live with my brother in MA).
All that to say a couple of things. 1. If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all - especially at this time, and on this thread. 2. Love her or not, Peggy was a very tangible presence on this board for most if its existence, and she will always be part of the Remdawg family. She did love her animals, and she loved most of us, and she loved the Sox and the Pats. I truly pray that she is at peace now. |

I will miss Peggy. She was very fun to chat with. I had heard that she was sick and was truly saddened by her passing. I was hoping that she would pull through
so we could talk Red Sox and Tim Wakefield at least one more time.
I'm happy that she got to see her beloved Sox win again last year.

This is my first post here in well... years. I will also remember the long nights spent on the yahoo mb with all the original folks including Peggy. Peggy took
me to several games, most notably game four vs. the Yankees in 2004. I brought a sign saying "we still believe" and the next day my picture along
with Peggy was featured on redsox.com. I wish there was a way to find that picture now.
I had no idea that Peggy was sick, and am grateful to Patti for sharing the sad e-mail that shared the news. Love her or hate her, Peggy added a lot to this message board and she will be missed. |

That is a perfect way to express what I have been thinking, and unable to verbalize... the entire Remy Board would be a very different place without her presence early on.
