I had the pleasure an honor of attending the September 6th game against Baltimore at Oriole Park in Camden Yards, compliments of O's ownership and legal staff. 14 rows behind home plate, and wouldn't you know I had a perfect and unobstructed view of the game until just before it started and a Yankees fan sat in front of me! What was HE doing there, anyway??
(This was the game in which the Os wore their pinstripe uniforms.) I told the gentleman who gave me the tickets I would spot Kevin Millar one home run (seeing as the tickets were a gift from them) but that the Sox should walk away with the win. It was hotter than blazes that night. I couldn't even wear my Wakefield shirt I'd brought. What a pretty, pretty park though! Would attend there again in a heartbeat!! Great idea!
We are just about to plan our yearly girls Red Sox road trip. Last year we went to Cleveland and saw the return of Jon Lester along with Dice K. Red Sox won both games I'll have to go scrutinize the schedule and check everyone's schedule and off we'll go. I'll probably post asking my fellow Rem Dawgs for hotel recommendations like I normally do. Debbie GO SOX!!! |

If you did not believe I was a real baseball fan (people like to put down Sox fans by saying they are not fans of baseball), think again...
I already have the 2 most important games of my Baseball Spring Break set. Apr. 22 Game 1 Cubs v. Mets, Game 2 WS v. Yankees (yes 2 NY/Chi teams in the same day, heck that beats Ft. Lauderdale in my mind). Refuse to pay service charge for Brewers tix, but plan to go up to Milwaukee the next day for Philly game. I was going to do 2 Yankees games in Cleveland, but since Trot is gone, I think I will only do one on Friday and head to Pittsburgh on Sat. Yes, I am sick, but baseball has meant so much to me and allowed me to see so many different and wonderful cities. The only issue is gas prices, but I can live off oat bran and hemp protein for a few weeks. Karen |

This is my first post on new board....so look out for errors, typos, etc....but in May I am going to see Cubs and Pirates at Wrigley as my youngest daughter
and son-in-law live in Chicago....I had to get 6 seats and was in the virtual waiting room from hell for Cubs...but I got them...they are so far out in left
field grandstands....but front row.....one friend said I will be watching game from another zip code...but it should be fun as Karen knows having been to
Wrigley...and by the way Karen if I could I would go with you to see Philly and the Brewers....but I have to work alone that week.....take care gang..... Jim

Hey Jim...there really aren't any bad seats in left fiend when it comes to Wrigley...because of the atmosphere...even through I wasn't a fan of Wrigley
and yes I'll again say it probably had to do with the Sox getting crushed and Greg Maddux taking Tim Wakefield deep...but none the less enjoy Wrigley but
enjoy Wrigleyville...and have a slice of pizza at Lou Malnati's for me

Three words Jim...Gold Coast Dogs...none better in Chicago. Superdawg is a bad poser. And get the Holy Cow burger from Harry Carey's. Ditka's is
overpriced. Any other food questions?
I would love to go to Philly to see the Sox, but you have to buy packs...same with Cincinatti Karen |

The atmosphere at Harry Carey's is insane...it was probably the coolest experience I've had in a while...plus me and my buddy picked up Mark
Bellhorn's check but that's another story for another day. The bar singing Take me out to the Ball Game on the hour was also cool. Loved that
atmosphere.

Phillies....I did put in through Phillies like the Red Sox...opportunity to purchase certain game tickets aka Red Sox vs Phils but I got that dreaded
email....thanks but you lost out....

Did he reach for his wallet and miss?---- Chaggy I agree with Lisa....we need to hear this one....he may have been like my brother in law who honestly when we sent to get something had left his wallet or money at home....lucky that was in his younger years...but every single time....but Bellhorn...we gotta hear that one. Jim ps....today I got my Cubs tickets printed off..to be continued...but I am very interested in these food stories....I think Karen, Chaggy, and I should make a road trip together...

announce for a team down there...

too. There is one off the Fullerton stop on the red line (a couple stops south of Addison). Also check out some Cubby Bear Crunch ice cream at Bobtail on
Southport (a mile walk from the stadium) and you can avoid the crowds getting on at the Addison stop.

Well, after 4+ years of trying, Rob & I finally made it to the HOF in Cooperstown (with Grace, of course)! We were there last Friday! The bloody sock
& the Minky ball were the highlights, but really the whole experience was very enjoyable. Also going during the off-season, there was hardly anyone else
there so it was easy to see everything & go at our own pace. The downside: a lot of the seasonal businesses in town were closed - but, we did find street
parking just a block away! It was wonderful. Any Dawgs who have not yet made it - I HIGHLY recommend it! It is well worth the drive from wherever you are!
We are now, gratefully, back home in WA, anxiously awaiting the outcome of Rob's job interview - the reason for our trip east to begin with. |

Hey gang--the Phillydawg has returned from his Chicago roadtrip!!!! All I can say is I love Chicago ---it is super there --my daughter and son-in-law live in
downtown Chicago and we got to see over the few days we were there alot of things and I want to go back for more....first of all my fellow dawgs know I love
trains..and their apartment is on Canal Street in a 36 story building by the Chicago River but surrounded and I mean surrounded by commuter train rails.....6
track main line and another set below....I could sit in corner window and watch it all day and even at night!!! I was in heaven....but the food....omg
fabulous...and Karen you are so right Gold Coast Dogs the best I ever had --ever...Lou Malnatis pizza unbelievable, Lou Mitchell's breakast diner on
Jackson street the best I have had and served in a skillet at your table...Oberweis Chocolate Malts and Kinzie Chophouse..unbelievable....as was
Portillos....next time I have to go to Harry Caray's....oh yes and Wrigley....great place and atmosphere and yes as I was told no seats are bad....and I
was way way up in section 503 where I could also see Lake Michigan...and unfortunately the wind was blowing in and omg it was freezing in the shade but worth
it....good game and the Cubbies won over the Pirates....but for only $16.00 a seat on line from Cubs a bargain.....in fact on line believe it or not I found
but did not buy but direct from Cubs for $300.00 each are dugout boxes in August for Cincinnati game and they are in row 3 by visitor dugout....hmmm wonder
what Fenway would be....but it was great to see another park and yes it was worth it. Thanks to my pals for recommending food stops and there was a great
popcorn on sale at Midway and at Chicago Union train station I had and it was terrific. So needless to say the Phillydawg had a great time in the Windy City
and am looking forward to doing it again. Maybe shall we say a Sox and Cubs World Series!
Take care my friends, Jim
