From Red Sox dot com:
Pitching matchup
BOS: RHP Kyle Snyder (4-3, 5.94 ERA)
The right-hander is coming off one of the best outings of his career, as he fired seven innings of shutout baseball in a win over the Blue Jays on Friday. Snyder has made 13 appearances for the Red Sox, seven of which have been starts. He's 3-1 with a 4.50 ERA in nine outings at Fenway.
CWS: RHP Jose Contreras (11-7, 4.23 ERA)
The big right-hander suffered his third straight loss and fourth in five decisions, but Contreras deserved a better fate Friday night at Kauffman Stadium. He allowed seven runs on seven hits over five innings but only two of those runs were earned. Contreras has a no-decision in his one start against Boston in 2006, but his struggles at Fenway Park have been well-documented -- albeit primarily as part of the Yankees staff. Contreras is 2-4 lifetime against Boston with a 10.36 ERA, but has a 1-3 record at Fenway with a 13.50 ERA.
Player to watch
Center fielder Coco Crisp has had good success against Contreras, going 5-for-15.
Tonight is also a RemGame for those who were lucky to win tickets from Jerry. Have fun kids!
And without further adeu........
Let's Go Red Sox!
Clap! Clap!
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Go get 'em Kyle! Welcome back Papi! It's okay to break out the bats tonight boys!

"In the past, this club has been super resilient and we don't quit. I think there are a lot of guys in this clubhouse who are going to continue to fight. This game is not supposed to be easy. It's a game of failure. It's about how many times you can get back up." Gabe Kapler 8/19/06
Wear red! Go Sox!
"ST. LOUIS -- There the Red Sox were, spilled across the Busch Stadium infield, laughing and hugging and screaming and spraying champagne and posing for photos and filling plastic bags with souvenir dirt and attempting to explain to reporters and cameramen what it meant to win the team's first championship in 86 years. And in the midst of this celebration, walked a slight old man wearing a weathered raincoat and a smile he's been waiting six decades to flash.

Johnny Pesky

Fifty-eight years after walking of a St. Louis field and into a nightmare, Johnny Pesky stepped onto another St. Louis field and found himself in a dream."

That was not a good inning Image
Hope the bats can come back.
Terrible news about Lester ... makes you realize it really is just a game. Wish him the best.

The Red Sox never seem to do well when they are on ESPN, but I still guarantee a Sox win.
