Just came in from my gahden and find no game thread and a score that does not look so good in the first. Let's see if Dice-K can turn this around as he
returns from the DL. More to come.......
(from NESN)
Daisuke Matsuzaka (8-0, 2.53) vs. Mitchell Boggs (1-0, 5.56)
The Dice is right. After landing on the disabled list with a strained rotator cuff, Daisuke Matsuzaka returns to the mound for the first time since May 27. Matsuzaka performed well in his rehab assignment for Pawtucket, allowing two runs on three hits over five innings against Lehigh Valley on Monday, and now looks to continue his winning ways. Dice-K is 4-1 with a 1.60 ERA in five career interleague starts and 5-0 with a 2.48 ERA in six home starts this season. Mitchell Boggs gets the call for the Cardinals. The rookie has allowed seven earned runs over 11 1/3 innings in three games (two starts) and picked up his first career win in Cincinnati on June 10.
