1:05 start today. Here's the matchup:
Red Sox: In his last start, the right-hander suffered his first loss in the Majors -- but had one of his best outings. He set new career
bests in innings (6 2/3) and strikeouts (nine) while walking three. Masterson was undone by the home run ball, giving up long balls to Jay Bruce on a slider
and Adam Dunn on a sinker. This could be Masterson's last start if Daisuke Matsuzaka is cleared to return from a mild strain of his right rotator cuff.
Phillies: Kendrick turned in a workmanlike performance while receiving staggering run support in his last outing. The right-hander went seven innings and allowed just two runs (one earned) in a 20-2 win. Kendrick's ability to focus with a big cushion was pleasing to manager Charlie Manuel. The Phils are 10-1 in Kendrick's last 11 starts and 11-4 overall in his starts. Kendrick got through seven innings on 94 pitches and allowed just one walk and eight hits.
Go SOX!
