I have not even noticed him doing that this year except after the No Hitter. But there are lots of people who do want them.

I still say: listen to the opposing teams sports guys and gals (as we outlanders are forced to do on some away games on Extra Innings) and you will figure out that we are LUCKY as Red Sox fans to have Don and Jerry. And don't forget Jamie Parker, the class of NESN.

When you hear him every night, you hear him during the very boring parts of certain games. While I actually like that side of him, I understand others do not. It is the same with hearing the same commercials all year long... they get old after a while.

How refreshing is it to hear a professional Jerry Remy on Fox? He is the best color man in the business when he takes things seriously. Funny how he can turn it on and off like that.

Jerry Remy needs to introduce Don Orsillo to the Tampa Bay announcers next time we play the Rays. Last weekend Dewayne Staats and Joe Magrane referred to Don as "Danny Orsillio (or SILL ee o)." So much for stardom.

And please don't bring back Bob Rodgers! He was painful to watch on the pregame shows. I thought he was going to cry whenever the Red Sox lost. I don't need to see that from a studio host.

Does anyone really care about the NESN broadcasters? Kathryn is the best of the bunch. Hazel is better than she used to be. Caron is a buffoon. Tina does nothing better than the average sideline reporter or news reporter. Orsillo is awful. Bring back Sean McD and Bob Rodgers.

TOM CARON:

Lewiston native Tom Caron is an 1986 graduate of Saint Michaels College where he majored in journalism. He started off with a small newspaper in Vermont covering the Vermont Reds, Cincinnati's AA affiliate. He also spent five years with WGME 13 in Portland as a sports anchor.
