What a shame. Clay was cruisin'! I think probably since he had the one-hitter going he might have gone the whole game, or the plan was to bring in Papelbon in the 9th. Oh well. On the other hand, Tampa Bay's pitchers weren't too shabby either.

I missed most of the game .... why was Bucholz still in the game in the 8th? No matter how well he pitched, Tito usually has Pap come in sometimes in the 8th to make sure and get the win ... don't know what Bucholz pitch count was but he must have put someone on base before the homer so why leave him in ... Just wondering.

Nothing like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory ...

Crap... A great outing by Buchholz spoiled by one stupid pitch. This is a mean game. And unless we can actually get something going in the 9th, we're looking at a 4-game skid now.

The match-up looks slightly tilted on the Sox' favor. But, the way I see it, Buchholz has to get us through 7 innings, and turn it over to Okajima and Papelbon. The rest of the 'pen is either struggling or overused. They could use the rest.

Could be a good offensive day. I'd hate to be Big Papi's cat last night when he got home. We sure know he tried, and he puts a lot of it on his own shoulders. Frustrating night.
