Here's my speculation:

Hansen gets sent down, Buchholz called up, Masterson to the pen. Timlin also probably gets called up and Smith sent down.

Regarding Hansen, did the Sox change his pitching motion? He seems to be short-arming the ball, and I don't recall him doing that when he was called up.
Plus now he's not breaking 92 on the gun, when he was 95-97 before.

BOSTON -- Though it appeared that the Red Sox were parting ways with swingman Julian Tavarez when they designated him for assignment on May 12, there is now a

As far as long relief, I don't think they plan on having a particular long reliever right now. I think they believe they can just piece it together. You
can get 2 innings from Aardsma, 2 from Delcarmen, 2 from Hansen - that sort of thing. What they don't have is the guy who can take over the game if your
starter gets injured pitching to the first batter of the game. Tavarez could have done that, and Snyder could have done that. Not sure anyone in the bullpen is
ready to give you 5...

ALCS ? (not wild pitches per the official scorer).. But for Big Papi teK would have gone down in history with Pesky, Aparicio, and Buckner as big game
