I just don't get it...

Is it not the same game, played with the same equipment, whether you play at home or on the road? I know ballpark differences figure into the equation, but not to the tune of 11 games under .500 on the road. Good teams win half of their road games and 2/3 of their home games. We're not achieving at anywhere close to that level. That makes us not good....and I just don't get it.

Since Tito already seemed resigned that Julio Lugo's injury running out a grounder to1st last night was serious, this is no surprise.

Well after a disappointing road trip with the Yankees and Rays, I thinks it's high time Tito/Theo do something with the black hole in this lineup hitting 7,8 and 9. I know there isn't anything to do with Tek and he will likely get on a hot streak sooner or later. But Crisp and Lugo are just horrible.............. with no signs of coming out of it. Maybe Lugo can get a little hammy issue or Fenway flu and we can give Lowrie a shot for a couple of weeks. I would like to see Moss get...

This is downright ridiculous! Seemed like Hansen had made progress but he has now regressed. DelCarmen is no longer a sure thing. Aardsma has been decent. Papelbon is almost automatic. Oki is NOT Dokey this year.
What would you do? What trades are out there as we are now in July?
I do expect some roster moves before tomorrow's series in the Bronx, but suspect that may be Masterson and Clay switching places.

Something's gotta give or the Rays can laugh all the...

I think it's high time the starting rotation is relieved of the torture that is a Tim Wakefield start and send him to the bullpen. He is less reliable now than he ever was (and that's not saying much) and his ERA, which usually grows as the season goes on, is already 5.19 after yesterday's debacle. By sending him to the pen, we regain a long man, who could be extremely effective during a game when replacing a pitcher throwing 90-95 as do most of the Sox starters. Plus, with...

Remember when we were all debating the trade for Santana? And some of us thought it was a no-brainer. Get him at all costs. Well, look what we kept: Lester (WoW), Ellsbury (WoW), Buchholz (WoW), Masterson (WoW), Moss (WoW), Lowrie (Wow). We kept them, they are all cheap, and someone paid what? $150 million for Santana? They got ONE pitcher. We got help this year AND a great FUTURE. This is one non-trade that turned out well.

Bartolo Colon will make his 2008 MLB debut this Wednesday against KC. Justin Masterson will start tomorrow.

In 3 appearances for Pawtucket, Colon has dispatched the AAA hitters with ease. In 14 innings, he has given up only 6 hits and 1 walk. It will be interesting to see how the roster is handed once Clay Buchholz is ready to return....
